Friday May 26th sees Terry Mosher aka Aislin at the From Here to Infinity Gallery signing From Trudeau to Trudeau 50 Years of Cartooning. A singular event, in actuality a once in a lifetime opportunity. Whether you follow politics, enjoy satire or are an aficionado of art this is an event that should be of interest.
Also beginning Friday morning the 1000 Islands Quilters’ Guild is launching their 2017 Show and Sale. This year’s theme is Celebrating Our Canada, Reflections from the 1000 Islands. What a marvelous way to commemorate Canada’s Sesquicentennial than by celebrating this heritage art. Friday to Sunday at the Brockville Memorial Centre, 10 am to 5 pm Friday and Saturday, Sunday 10 am to 3 pm. Tickets $8.00. Still have some energy? How about a dance? Specifically the Brockville Museum’s 60’s Night, part of the Museum @ Night Series. Doors open at 8 pm and tickets are $15. The weekend brings Downtown Brockville’s first street festival, Street Eats from 9 am to 4 pm and Doors Open on both Saturday & Sunday throughout the area. So rest up, find a comfortable pair of shoes and get out and enjoy yourself, there’s lots to choose from.
