Where can you find nearly 100 free events and activities, open to the public? Stuck? The answer of course is Brockville Culture Days+ 2017. Brockville Culture Days takes place from Friday Sept. 29th to Sunday Oct. 1st, 2017. Think about it; 3 days, 5 communities, 19 different venues and the aforementioned activities and events. That’s what we have to offer this year. Definitely something for everyone.
The most exciting development in a year replete with them is that some of our neighbouring communities are joining in the celebration of arts, culture and heritage in the community. New this year are events and activities in Delta, Frankville, Lyndhurst and Mallorytown.
Friday sees a pair of walking tours in downtown Brockville as well as a pair of open houses of arts facilities in Frankville.
Saturday the main Brockville celebration takes place from 9 am to 4 pm on King St. between Perth and Buell St. as well as a number of other locations in the downtown area. Plus a continuation of the Frankville tours.
Sunday Delta, Frankville again, Lyndhurst and Mallorytown stage their celebrations. Plus you can learn more about the Art of Mehandi at the Brockville Library.
There are honestly too many highlights to cover. But there are all sorts of interactive, crowd engaging activities and demonstrations. As I said something for everyone.
A complete list of events will shortly be available on the Brockville Arts website (www.brockvillearts.com) under the Culture Days button or you can go to the Ontario Culture Days website https://on.culturedays.ca/en and click on Find Activities. Enter Brockville as the city and find 50 events, many with multiple components. Enter Lyndhurst to find out about activities in that area, and there are a wealth of them.
So mark your calendar you don’t want to miss this. Locally organized, local participants, volunteer driven, grassroots celebration of arts, culture and heritage in our communities. ALL FREE! Hope to see you there.
